Driver blacks out, breaks pole, water main

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A woman is recovering after blacking out during the morning commute. The woman crashed her car into a utility pole at 3rd and Castle Streets in Wilmington just before 9 a.m.

Police say the woman was driving down 3rd Street when she went into diabetic shock and blacked out.

The crash also broke a water main.

Police said the driver was a little shaken up, but is doing OK.
