Driver crashes through window at Wilmington business

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington business is cleaning up this morning after a driver crashed through the glass windows.

It happened around 9:00 a.m. at Mom’s Tattoos on Shipyard Boulevard.

The owner says a customer was parked in front of the tattoo parlor and when she tried to hit the brakes, she ended up slamming into the front window panes. No one was in the front of the store at the time.

The owner says his wife was in the back and the crash caught her off guard.

According to police, no one got hurt.  Police are still investigating, no word yet on any fines or citations.

The business owner says he’s happy no one was hurt.  He plans to board up the window because it might take three weeks to get new double-sided windows installed.

He plans to reopen tomorrow.
