Driver involved in school bus crash has died

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY ) – The Wilmington driver who rear-ended a New Hanover County Schools activity bus has died.

The crash happened Thursday morning on I-40 near Newton Grove in Sampson County. 

The highway patrol say Zeke Sigler, 23, crashed into the rear of the Hoggard activity bus when it slowed for traffic.  Sigler died on Friday.

Sigler played varsity basketball at Cape Fear Academy. He had recently received his Masters degree from East Carolina University.

His funeral is Wednesday night at Andrews Mortuary on Market Street.
