Duke Energy to host community info session

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Duke Energy is hosting an event next week to speak with the community about coal ash and other issues.

The company will host a drop-in informational event Monday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Coastline Convention Center in downtown Wilmington. It’s invited community members and neighbors to discuss operations at the retired Sutton coal plant on US 421, the new power plant, the company’s ash management plan, community involvement and more.

Earlier in the day, media will get a tour of the the Sutton plant, including the ash basins.
