Duke’s business school wants promise from MBA students
DURHAM — Duke University’s business school is planning to gather hundreds of graduate students this fall to sign the school’s honor code and promise not to cheat.
The Herald-Sun of Durham reported Monday that Duke officials are discussing plans that could bring 420 first-year MBA students in the Fuqua School of Business into Cameron Indoor Stadium to sign the document together.
The move comes more than a year after nearly three dozen graduate students were found to have cheated on a take-home exam.
In all, 34 graduate students were convicted of cheating on the exam and other assignments. Nine students were expelled, and 15 were suspended for a year and given a failing grade in the class.
The remaining students received failing grades.
