Duo faces 60+ charges in Surf City crime spree

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — Two people are facing more than 60 charges in connection with a crime spree that happened in Surf City earlier this year, according to police.

The Surf City Police charged Trevor Boggs, 23, of Sanford, and Brie-Anna Schroll, 23, of Holly Springs, with crimes that happened back in February.

More than 60 charges were filed against Boggs and Schroll. Surf City Police says there were a total of 14 victims of theft and property damage on Grouper Loop in Surf City.

Investigators found that Boggs and Schroll stole multiple golf cart batteries and sold them to area scrap yards.

Police say the two were responsible for more than $7,000 in damages and theft.

Both were taken into custody by the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Boggs is in jail under a $300,000 secured bond. Schroll is in jail under a $200,000 secured bond.
