Duo facing charges after breaking & entering call, car chase
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two people are facing charges after police said the duo broke into a home before leading officers on a car chase.
A Wilmington Police spokeswoman said Jacob Decatur,33, and Karen Decatur, 28, are both behind bars for the crime, which happened around 2 p.m. Sunday.
The spokeswoman said police responded to a breaking and entering alarm in the 1700 block of Country Club Road. After getting witness descriptions of the duo and their vehicle, police said officers started chasing them.
Police said the car eventually crashed in a ditch on S. Kerr Avenue before Karen was captured at the scene. They said Jacob ran and was arrested a short time later.
According to jail records, Karen faces a possession of stolen goods charge, while Jacob faces a slew of charges including reckless driving, larceny and resist and delay.
Police said they are still investigating.
