DWI Crime Lab receives state grant

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council has accepted a state grant of $166,941 for the DWI Crime Lab program.

The Wilmington Police Department currently provides blood alcohol analysis to 34 local and state law enforcement agencies in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties.

The lab will now be able to extend this service to all law enforcement agencies in six surrounding counties, adding Duplin, Columbus and Onslow.
