DWIs up during Azalea Festival

Highway Patrol officers were busy this Azalea Festival. They charged 101 drivers were with driving while intoxicated over the three-day weekend. That’s about four times the number of DWI citations issued on an average weekend.

Highway patrol reports there were two major checkpoints in Wilmington Saturday. Friday there was one in Brunswick County.
