Early morning woods fire near Echo Farms Golf Course

WILMINGTON – Several Wilmington Fire Department units battled a woods fire this morning near the intersection of Echo Farms Blvd. and Independence.

The fire was very near Echo Farms Golf Course on the north side of Independence Blvd. The fire started at around 03:30 am and crews cleared around 06:00 am. The fire burned around two – three acres and never threatened any structures.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is unknown.
