Educational fair is all about the kids

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –It’s all about the kids.

Wilmington Faiths Against Gun Violence, or WFAGV, put on an educational fair for parents and kids at the MLK Center in Wilmington. The event was open to the public and was meant to provide an opportunity for parents and kids to learn about after-school programs and other services to bring kids away from violence in their community.

Many organizations were present, including Phoenix Hometown Hires, Community Boys and Girls Club, the NAACP and many more.

Bernadine Fulton, the organizer of the fair, sees programs like this important to introduce kids to life away from violence.

“We’re trying to find a safe environment. And to produce that environment, to make awareness of the different resources in our community cause a lot of people say they don’t know of the resources. Well we say here they are, come out, be apart of this, and this can help you,” Fulton said.
