Elderly woman killed by husband after driveway accident

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County woman is dead after her husband ran over her in their driveway. Highway Patrol says 89-year-old Robert Andrew Calhoun, Jr., ran over his wife, 92-year-old Josephine Howey Calhoun, as he was trying to straighten out the car at their home on Cranbrook Drive. Troopers say calhoun thought his wife had gone inside the house. Instead, she was behind the car.

Investigators do not expect to file any charges.
