Elected officials attend appreciation barbeque

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Area leaders took a step away from the paperwork and meetings and enjoy an old fashioned barbeque.

Some elected officials were treated on the riverfront at the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s 14th annual elected officials appreciation barbeque.

The barbeque served as an opportunity to recognize the efforts of multiple officials including mayor Bill Saffo.

“Some issues that come to me may involve a state representatives or even a federal representative, so the collaboration that we work under, work with, you know sharing that with our citizens and telling them, you know about how we work together in a collaborative way to make things happen here in the community,” Saffo said.

This barbeque was only open to Wilmington chamber of commerce members and many dignitaries were present such as Michael Lee and Deb Butler.
