Emergency Services Director for Brunswick County, Randy Thompson retires
Brunswick County’s emergency services director was awarded the states highest honor.
Friends, family and co-workers were there as Randy Thompson received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, during a dinner held in his honor. After more than thirty years of government service, Thompson is retiring. The last nine, he spent in Brunswick County. Thompson says he was honored by all the kind words and well-wishes from his co-workers.
Randy Thompson said “I feel pretty dog gone good. I am very humbled, by everything that everyone has said this evening, by the recognitions that I’ve received this evening”
Thompson will move on to a new job, as the governmental affairs director for a Louisiana based company, specializing in disaster recovery and clean up, but he’ll still live here in Brunswick County.
