EPA updates public on Navassa Superfund clean-up
NAVASSA, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Navassa had some visitors come by and answer all their questions about the progress of the Kerr-McGee plant location, also known as the Superfund site.
The EPA and state regulators held a public availability session for the resident’s of Navassa.
They have public meetings every four months, but this was the first time they gave residents a chance to talk to experts from different aspects of the project.
There was someone there that could answer questions for almost every topic.
“My goal is to listen to the community, understand what their concerns are and be able to provide not just information to them, but hear from the community, what they want to see,” Erik Spalvins, EPA Project Manager of the Navassa Superfund Site, said.
They had a public meeting tonight at the Community Center.
