EPA calls on Wilmington to answer about sewers

WILMINGTON — The City of Wilmington has been summoned to answer to the feds about sewers.

The Environmental Protection Agency is calling on City officials to appear at the Atlanta office on May 31.

They want to know what the City is doing to get back in compliance with federal environmental laws.

If the answers aren’t satisfactory, the City could be fined or in a most extreme case, the feds could take over the sewer system.
