Evangelous talks about possible new job

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After giving a presentation on the Police force Tuesday night at the City Council meeting we asked Police Chief Ralph Evangelous about his new job prospect.

Evangelous is currently one of three candidates in the running for the Chief position in Savannah, Georgia. Evangelous said he loves the city of Wilmington and wasn't looking to leave.

"I was talking with a friend of mine and an outside entity who thought that I should look at the job," Evangelous said. "I looked at it. I thought it'd be a pretty good fit. And so, it's early on. I don't know what's going to happen. So we're just going to sit back and kinda play it by ear."

The City of Savannah said all three candidates will be coming to the city next week to interview for the position.
