Exceptional children teacher suspended following road rage charge
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The man who police said attacked another driver in a Leland road rage incident has been identified as a middle school teacher.
Police said Chris Mastrogiacomo was charged with misdemeanor assault last month after citizens identified him in a surveillance image. Police said Mastrogiacomo followed a driver and assaulted him because the driver didn’t use his turn signal.
The spokeswoman from Brunswick County Schools said Mastrogiacomo is an EC teacher at Brunswick Middle School. He was placed on administrative leave with pay today. He was hired last August.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mastrogiacomo has an extensive background in special education.
