Experts share ideas, experiences handling crises
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 26th annual Trauma and Emergency Symposium kicked off today at the Wilmington Convention Center.
The event is sponsored by the New Hanover Regional Medical Center featured a panel of New Hanover County’s emergency and law enforcement leaders.
New Hanover County Emergency Management Director Warren Lee says cooperation with other agencies is key to responding quickly and efficiently to major emergencies.
“Bring folks together here about what could happen, how you prevent one, how do you deal with it when it does happen,” Lee said. “It’s an opportunity to bring together not only hospital management but others who when an event happens whose going to be dealing with it.”
The symposium continues tomorrow with a presentation on active shooters and mass casualties.
