Familiar face returns to WPD

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — At today’s HOPE Academy graduation, we saw a familiar face from the Wilmington Police Department.

Linda Rawley, who worked with the department for more than 16 years, left in 2006 to pursue personal career interests. She’s back as WPD’s community resource coordinator for the Gang Resistance Team.

Rawley says she’s just thankful she can serve the people she cares about once again.

“The residents here have welcomed me,” Rawley said. “I’m excited to bring that link back together and certainly finding as many positive resources out there that are there for this community.”

Rawley was the guiding force behind the HOPE Academy.
