Family Empowerment Day event happening on Saturday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County’s Department of Social Services is hosting an event called Family Empowerment Day.
It’s happening on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Nir Family YMCA located at 2710 Market Street in Wilmington.
The event will feature community resource information and free workshops including:
- Understanding Child Support: A Guide for Parents
- Supportive Solutions: Empowering both custodial and non-custodial parents
- Budgeting and Savings
- Recognize, Respond and Report Child Abuse
There will also be a children’s corner with activities such as face painting, prizes and giveaways.
Lunch and snacks will be provided for attendees.
Registration is not required, but encouraged.
