Family to hold vigil to raise awareness for distracted driving
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The family of Ant’wan Grady is holding a vigil to raise awareness for distracted driving Sunday night.
Grady was killed May 5th after being hit by a pizza delivery car. Police said the driver of that car was reaching for her cell phone when she drifted and hit Grady as he stood near his parked car. His cousin Dee Grady said they want to remember their relative, but also show people how serious distracted driving can be.
“We don’t want another family to experience or go through what we are having to go through as a family now,” Grady said.
The vigil is open to the public and will be at 8:30 tonight at 606 Morningside Drive in Wilmington.
