Family still awaiting results in missing person case

It was two years ago today that Allison Jackson Foy of Wilmington went missing.

The case has remained very much in the news all that time.

At this point her family has assumed the worst, but is still waiting for closure.

Foy was last seen at Junction Pub and Billiards on Carolina Beach Road.

A few months ago, police recovered bones about a mile from the pub.

They are still waiting for a Texas lab to confirm who the bones belong to.

Monica Caison of the Cue Center for Missing Persons says the process is taking longer than usual.

“In past cases we’ve had a quicker response as far as an identification, and I really am at a loss for the family in advocating for them to wonder why it’s taken so long,” said Caison.

Wilmington Police Chief Ralph Evangelous said he shares the frustration.

Foy was 34 when she went missing.

Her sister Lisa said her family will get together tonight in Foy’s hometown of Oyster Bay, Long Island to remember her.
