Farmer donates 230 lbs of watermelon to Wilmington soup kitchen
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — How sweet is this! The Good Shepherd Center in Wilmington received a big donation from a Bladen County farmer Tuesday.
The center, who provides food and housing to those in need, posted on social media of “these Bladen County beauties”, six large watermelons.
The post says a farmer donated 230 pounds of watermelon to their Soup Kitchen, which will be served in lunches and dinner this week.
