Fatal stabbing turned over to DA’s office

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Still no charges against the girlfriend of a man who was stabbed to death Monday morning.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office questioned the girlfriend and then turned the case over to the District Attorney’s office.

Investigators said it was a case of domestic violence that turned deadly. They said the stabbing happened at a trailer at 67 Goodman Rd. off of US 17 west of Leland around 10 a.m.

In the 911 call, the girlfriend admitted to stabbing him because he was assaulting her. As she cried on the phone, she said he was bashing her head into the wall so she stabbed him with a knife in the chest.

The Sheriff’s Office said the man killed was Johnathan Quincy Allen, 24.

Friends and family did not want to speak on camera, but a coworker said Allen and his girlfriend moved into the trailer about a week ago.

Because there are no charges against the girlfriend at this time, WWAY is not including her name in the story.
