Father charged with choking baby

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County man is in jail charged with choking his two-month-old daughter.

Deputies were called to the North Chase Apartments around 6 a.m. Sunday. They arrested 48-year-old James Matthew Beall for felony child abuse.

Investigators say the baby is improving.

Beall is in the New Hanover County Jail under $2 million secure bond.
