Father has lost confidence son-in-law is innocent

RALEIGH — Search warrants show the father of a woman found beaten to death in her North Carolina home has lost confidence in his son-in-law’s innocence.

Alan Fisher detailed e-mails and phone conversations with Jason Young to investigators. Young’s pregnant wife, Michelle, was found dead in her suburban Raleigh home in November 2006. The couple’s then 2-year-old daughter, Cassidy, was found unharmed nearby.

Fisher said he felt “put off” when Young refused to talk about the murder investigation and hasn’t tried to prove his innocence. Young has not been named a suspect.

A ruling in a civil lawsuit held Jason Young responsible for his wife’s death, barring him from her insurance policies. He reached a court agreement last week to share custody of his daughter with his sister-in-law.
