Fayetteville officer shoots, wounds suspect
FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) — A Fayetteville police officer has shot and wounded a man after a chase through an apartment complex.
Police Lt. Chris Davis says the man was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after the shooting Sunday evening. Davis says the suspect is expected to survive.
Davis did not release the officer’s name.
The officer reported a suspicious vehicle shortly before 7 p.m. and stopped the car. Davis says the driver got out of the car and hopped over a fence and ran into an apartment complex.
Davis says the officer caught the man and there was a struggle before the shooting.
Davis said he had no other details.
