Federal grant to help Burgaw buy police cars

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The federal stimulus plan will help keep Burgaw police officers on the road. The Burgaw Police Department will receive $59,000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

It includes a grant of more than $38,000 and a loan for more than $20,000 to buy two new Dodge Chargers. The cars will replace two older vehicles that have racked up maintenance costs.
