Help us Feed Cape Fear this holiday season!

Now through December 19th, drop off non-perishable food items at WWAY to help local families in need. Every can and box make a difference — especially for children facing hunger this holiday in our region.

Non-perishable donations are accepted at the station from Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM through December 19, 2025. WWAY is located at 1224 Magnolia Village Way, Leland, NC 28451

Manna Ministries will pick up items for distribution at their Food Bank to local Brunswick County families in need.

Viewers can also drop off their non-perishable food items at Tommy’s Car Wash location at 3915 Oleander Dr, Wilmington, NC 28403.

Donors will receive $5.00 off per can off the Works Wash – max 2 cans.

Acceptable Items to Donate to Food Banks

This list includes everyday items that are safe and helpful to donate to local food banks. Please ensure all items are unopened, non-perishable, and within their ‘best by’ dates. When in doubt, check with your local food bank for specific needs.

Canned & Shelf-Stable Foods

  • Canned vegetables and fruit (in juice or light syrup)
  • Canned beans (black, kidney, chickpeas, baked beans, etc.)
  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken, salmon, ham, Spam)
  • Canned soups, chili, and stews
  • Canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, or pasta sauce
  • Shelf-stable milk (evaporated, powdered, or boxed)
  • Canned pasta (ravioli, SpaghettiOs, etc.)

Dry Goods & Grains

  • Rice (white, brown, instant, or flavored)
  • Pasta and noodles
  • Boxed macaroni & cheese
  • Instant potatoes or stuffing mix
  • Dry beans, lentils, or peas
  • Oats and oatmeal packets
  • Breakfast cereals and granola
