Felon sentenced to 35+ years after drug convictions
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A drug dealer and habitual felon will spend at least 35 years in prison following a drug conviction.
On Friday, Alfred Butler, aka Hakeem Muhammad was sentenced to at least 35 years in prison after the completion of a week-long trial. The investigation into Butler was completed by both the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Butler was convicted as a habitual felon for selling marijuana in April of 2013 and
selling powder cocaine in May of 2013.
Butler has been previously convicted of felonious assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and assaulting a law enforcement officer with a firearm.
