FEMA, State Disaster Recovery Center opening in Columbus Co. Wednesday
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — North Carolinians who experienced damage and losses in Hurricane Matthew can get information about available state and federal assistance at a Disaster Recovery Center in Columbus County starting Wednesday.
The center will be located at 913 Jefferson Street in Whiteville, and will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Representatives from FEMA, North Carolina Emergency Management and the US Small Business Administration will be at the center, where you can get help applying for federal assistance, learn about what kind of assistance is available and about the appeals process, and get updates on applications.
FEMA and the state have recovery centers centers open throughout areas affected by the storm in North Carolina. To find the closest center to you, call the FEMA Helpline at (800)621-3362 or visit FEMA.gov/DRC and/or ncdps.gov.
