Fennell and Soles reflect on their campaigns

It is crunch time for local state senate candidates as they try to grab as many votes as they can in the final hours leading up to Election Day.

Republican candidate Bettie Fennel and Democratic Senator R.C. Soles took the day to tie up loose ends, but not without reflecting back on the campaign trail.

“This has not been the hardest campaign I’ve ever run but it has been the ugliest campaign I’ve ever been involved in, and I’m sorry it has come to that situation,” said Senator Soles.

Bettie Fennell is feeling optimistic about her first campaign. “I think it went great. I can tell you I haven’t been so inspired by the people who have come up to me, that have congratulated me for running.”

Two completely different reactions, from two candidates who chose to use piercing television ads jab at their opponent.

Hours before the polls open, it is clear Bettie Fennell and R.C. Soles are prepared to fight till the end.

On the final day before the elections, both candidates spent their time making last minute connections with voters, both on the phone and in person.

Both candidates did say the group of volunteers on their campaigns will be stationed at all the poll sites Tuesday, handing out last minute flyers, and showing support.
