Fifth arrest made in election fraud investigation

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation announced Rebecca D. Thompson was arrested Thursday after turning herself in at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

The SBI said Thompson has been charged with conspiracy to commit felonious obstruction of justice and possession of absentee ballot.

This is the fifth arrest in connection to the election fraud investigation.

The man at the center of the criminal investigation into ballot issues in Bladen County, McCrae Dowless, was indicted on several charges on February 27.

Three more people were later arrested in connection to the election fraud investigation.
