Scott Braswell stays on course with football

videoIt's been a tough month for Hoggard head football coach Scott Braswell in regard to his health, but Braswell will be on the sidelines on Friday night at the BB&T Jamboree. In fact he'll also coach in the regular season opener before heading to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.

Laney hits the field at the stroke of midnight

videoFriday marked the first day high school football teams are permitted to hit the practice field for the upcoming season. Most squads waited for the sun to come up, but that was not the case at Laney. The Buccaneers waited for the clock to strike midnight. Our report from Buctown includes standout Tariq Lane. The senior has decided to attend Laney after contemplating a move to Charlotte.

North Brunswick added to BB&T Jamboree

videoNorth Brunswick High School has been added to the BB&T Jamboree lineup next month at Legion Stadium. This means all three high schools in Brunswick County will be included along with the four high schools from New Hanover County, Whiteville, South Columbus and Wallace-Rose Hill in the high school football showcase.
