The South Columbus High School community is mourning the loss of running back Cephus McGill. The sophomore died Sunday night. The Columbus County Board of Education approved two athletic positions involving South Columbus High School earlier this week. Kyle Hutchison was approved to be the head football coach of the Stallions. Willie Gore was named director of athletics.

Laney High School didn't waste much time in finding a replacement for Greg Ditz, nor did the Bucs look too far. Defensive coordinator Aashad Yeoman has been named the new head football coach at Laney.
Jake Fonvielle announced his resignation as the South Columbus head football coach and athletics director on Wednesday morning. Fonvielle took over the football program at South Columbus in 2009. Fonvielle led the Stallions to the 2-A East Championship game in 2011 & 2012.
