South Carolina defeated North Carolina in the 2013 college football opener on Thursday night. The Carolina Panthers finished the preseason with a winning record for only the third time in team history. Week number one of the high school football season is finally over. Topsail and Trask completed Friday's suspended game on Monday. West Bladen didn't even hit the field until Monday due to a wet field last week. Russell Dove picked up his first win ever as a head coach. Former Hoggard Viking Jonathan Cooper underwent surgery on Monday. Cooper broke his left leg over the weekend in a preseason game. Plus more!
The first week of the high school football regular season is not over yet. The vast majority of the teams had to suspend play due to lightning. Some of the football games will resume on Saturday. Others will be finished on Monday.
