Fifth Annual Wrightsville Beach Sea Kayak Race

Saturday was a beautiful day to be out on the water. For local kayakers, the conditions were nearly perfect. They took part in the Fifth Annual Wrightsville Beach Sea Kayak Race.

Kayakers chose from two courses, a three or six mile trek. Family and friends cheered at the finish line.

“It’s a beautiful day, it’s a little windy out there, we had a lot of choppy water, but it’s a beautiful day, lots of birds, it’s a good fun, social group out here,” said Carolina Beach kayaker, Curry Guinn

Great Outdoor Provision Company and Salt Marsh Kayak sponsored the event. All proceeds will benefit the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust, an organization that preserves state green space.
