Final numbers reveal One-Day Blitz was a big success!
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Thank you, Wilmington, for making the Krispy Kreme and WWAY One-Day Blitz a huge success!
The Salvation Army says it collected 25,425 pounds of food and $673.56 in cash yesterday. This total broke last year’s record.
That’s more than 12 tons of food that will help stock the Salvation Army’s shelves. Tonight on WWAY, we’ll take a closer look at all those food donations and see how this will benefit people who live in our community. You might also be surprised to hear how long this food will last.
In case you’re curious, Krispy Kreme handed out 15,840 donuts yesterday. That’s 1,320 boxes and 3,009,600 calories.
