Final three suspects arrested in New Hanover County robbery, shooting


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Four people are now charged in a robbery and shooting that happened last month near Monkey Junction.

It happened on December 4 at Southridge Mobile Home Park on Carolina Beach Road. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says four suspects robbed two people. One of the victims was shot in the thigh.

That same night, deputies arrested the alleged shooter, Cole Oakley. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury, possession of a handgun by a minor and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Oakley was the only one charged with the crime for more than a month.

Then, on Wednesday, deputies arrested another suspect, Eian Wallace, 29. Wallace is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held under a $30,000 bond.

A third suspect was arrested Thursday morning. Kaci Harrison, 21, is accused of driving the vehicle the night of the robbery and shooting. Harrison is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Harrison is being held under a $50,000 bond.

Deputies were searching for the fourth suspect, Jessica Paffenroth. She was arrested Thursday afternoon. She is currently being processed. A bond is not yet set.
