Fire chief’s son killed on way to emergency in Bladen County

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A member of the Tar Heel Fire Department has died from injuries suffered in a car accident on the way to an emergency. Bladen County Fire Marshal Bradley Kinlaw said the firefighter was 23-year-old David Hunsinger Jr., the son of Tar Heel Fire Chief David Hunsinger Sr.

In an e-mail news release, Kinlaw said, “Firefighters from around the county and state were on hand at Bladen County Hospital to pay their respects as their brother firefighter was brought into the facility.”
