Fire that closed Carolina Beach Rd. ruled accidental

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators say a fire that closed part of Carolina Beach Road last night was an accident.

The fire started in the basement of a two-story building at 2006 Carolina Beach Road around 7:30 p.m. The Wilmington Fire Department says it caused about $2,500 of damage to the building and $500 to contents.

Firefighters had to close Carolina Beach Road for a while as they worked last night.

No one was hurt.
