Fire crews respond to Wilmington apartment fire overnight

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Crews responded to the scene where an apartment fire was reported early Monday morning, according to dispatchers.

New Hanover County Dispatch said they got a call around 3:40 a.m., reporting a structure fire in the 400 block of Drake Court near Randall Parkway. They said that’s in the area of Pinewood Apartments.

Wilmington Fire Department crews said a faulty electrical outlet in a bedroom at the complex is to blame. They said the fire caused less than $10,000 in damage.

Crews said no one was hurt in the fire.
