Fire Commission and Town Hall meetings tonight

(New Hanover County)— New Hanover County Commissioners will host two meetings this evening to help educate residents on recommended changes in fire service delivery and to gain citizen input on issues important to them.

At 5:00 pm, commissioners will conduct a joint meeting with the New Hanover County Board of Fire Commissioners to review and discuss recommendations to consolidate five districts into two and increase training opportunities for volunteers. Following the joint board meeting, commissioners will break out into a town hall meeting with residents. Both meetings will take place at Ogden Elementary School.

The town hall meeting gives residents an opportunity to express their opinions in an open forum. Tonight’s town hall meeting is the second in a series of such public meetings being held this summer throughout the county. The third town hall meeting will be planned for the southern region of New Hanover County.
