Fire destroys Maco mobile home

An early Wednesday morning fire destroyed a mobile home in the Maco area.

Initial inspections indicate that the fire started in the kitchen, but investigators say they can’t rule anything out.

Owner Allen Alston and his girlfriend were inside when the fire broke out. “Well, we were asleep, and my girlfriend noticed a smell in the house, so she, uh, she woke me up, and said the house was smoking.”

Alston was not harmed in the blaze, but his home was completely destroyed.
