Fire investigation off Carolina Beach Road

Fire officials are still trying to determine what caused a house fire in New Hanover County late Saturday night. When fire fighters arrived at a house off of Carolina Beach Road, 50 percent of it was engulfed with flames.

Officials so far have ruled out any suspicions of arson and have determined that no one was in the house. Officials spent most of the day securing the area by putting out any additional hot spots. The investigation will remain open until a cause is determined.
