Firefighters battle Carolina Beach blaze, one treated for heat exhaustion

A Carolina Beach firefighter suffered heat exhaustion, after battling a fire Monday morning in Carolina Beach.

The call at 207 Teakwood Drive came in at about 8:30 a.m. Firefighters responded to find the garage engulfed in flames.

No residents were injured. The cause is still under investigation.

The firefighter who suffered the heat exhaustion was treated at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and released.
