FIRST ON 3: Fatal accident in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are on the scene of a fatal accident involving a Yamaha Dirt Bike at Fifth and Dawson streets.

The dirt bike was traveling the wrong way on Dawson Street. That’s when the four-door sedan collided with the Yamaha Dirt Bike. The driver of the bike, a male, was declared dead at the scene.

Dirt bikes are not street legal in Wilmington.

There is no word yet of any other injuries related to this accident.
