FIRST ON 3: Roommate slashed with machete
THE FOLLOWING IS FROM A NEWS RELEASE SENT BY THE WILMINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT:

Time: 11:37 a.m. – Saturday night
Location: 2808 Morgan Street
Offense: Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury
Summary: Responding WPD officers found a man who had been slashed in the head.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been in an argument with roommates, and one of the other men grabbed a machete and hit the victim on the head.
The victim was transported the New Hanover County Regional Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to survive. The case remains under investigation.
