FIRST ON 3 UPDATE: Brunswick County deputy injured in crash identified

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputy was injured during a crash in Bolivia Tuesday evening.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Emily Flax said Cpl. Donald Baldry was rushed to New Hanover Regional Medial Center after he crashed into a skidder, a piece of construction equipment, on Old Ocean Highway near Bolivia around 6:30 P.M.

The driver of the skidder was not injured. There is no word on Baldry’s injuries, but he was conscious when emergency crews arrived.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
